My fiance Dan and I have just moved into a new home and I am feeling so inspired by the space as a blank canvas and all of the personal touches we can add to it to make the space our perfect nest. Yesterday I ran across this gorgeous paper mobile on Domestic Construction’s site and new it would make for the perfect addition to our stairway landing. I couldn’t see how the top was fashioned from the photographs, so I decided to use an embroidery hoop. The paper I used was old wall paper samples given to me by a friend and scraps of origami from my days in Japan. I cut the paper into imperfect squares and sewed them into unpatterned strips. Sometimes I find the best pattern is no pattern at all, but rather an overall family of hues that play nicely together. So happy with the result!
